RK Rathi on Wednesday formally assumed charge as Executive Director (Works) of Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) here.
Armed with a B.Tech in Metallurgy, Rathi joined SAIl in November 1980 in Bhilai Steel Plant’s Convertor Shop in SMS 2 as Junior Manager. He rose through the ranks to become Manager in 1991 and then on to become DGM (Convertor Shop) in June 2003, a BSP press release informed here.
In June 2009, Rathi was elevated as General Manager and given responsibility in Bokaro Steel limited as GM (SMS 2 & CCS).
In April 2012, he became GM (Steel) at Bokaro.
In September 2012, he was elevated to the rank of Executive Director (Works) at Bokaro. The following year, in Dec 2013, he was given charge of RDCIS as ED I/c.
In July 2014, Rathi took charge as ED (Works) of IISco Steel Plant.
In January 2016, Rathi was given the responsibility of taking charge as Executive Director (Works) at the Bhilai Steel Plant.
He took charge from SK Jain who on his promotion as Executive Director I/c CFP, Chandrapur has relinquished office of Head of Works at BSP.
