Ramdev canvassing for BJP on Govt expense: CSM

Putting Baba Ramdev under fire, Chhattisgarh Swabhiman Manch (CSM) made a written complaint with the state election commission alleging Ramdev of canvassing for the BJP Government on State expenditure after the enforcement of model code of conduct (MCC).

A delegation of CSM led by General Secretary Mahesh Dewangan, Central Advisor Rajkumar Gupta and treasure Bhagat Ram Soni met with Chief Election Officer (CEO) Sunil Kujur at his office on Monday.

In letter handed over to CEO they alleged that Baba Ramdev during his one week starting from October 2nd was given the statutes of ‘State guest’. During his camps Ramdev tried to solicit votes for BJP.

Dewangan talking with reports said “Baba Ramdev was extended statutes of state guest after the model code of conduct was enforced. He is misusing the government machinery to drum up support for BJP regime.

Ramdev is proclaiming Dr Raman Singh as Chief Minister and Narendra Modi as Prime Minister which is highly objectionable,” Dewangan claimed and added that in the name of training voter he is campaigning for BJP over which CSM and third front have raised objection. The CEO later on talking with reporters said that we will examine the video recording the camps conducted by Baba Ramdev and then accordingly decide what steps should be taken.

“If we find the Ramdev was canvassing for any political party, then the expenses of his camp would be added with the related political party’s election budget,” the CEO said.
