Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh tore into the Congress on Friday for its “unsubstantiated charges” against his Government and offered point-to-point rebuttal on the final day of the Winter Session of the State Assembly.
“The Congress has moved No Confidence Motion unprepared and in very casual manner, this is the most non-serious no confidence motion moved by the Opposition so far, allegations levelled without facts and proves,’’ Singh stated while replying to no confidence motion moved against the BJP Government.
Singh claimed that the State witnessed corruption-free rapid all-round development during the past 14 years.
The Congress which is out of power in the State for roughly 14 years, had put up 99-page charge-sheet against the BJP regime in No Confidence Motion. The Congress has highlighted 168 points in the charge-sheet against the State Government regarding its alleged failure on development and governance fronts.
Congress legislators accused the BJP Government of being involved in serious corruption and scams during the 14-year long tenure and said development has taken back seat since the BJP Government came to power.
leader of the Opposition TS Singhdeo alleged that Chhattisgarh had been facing “undeclared financial emergency” due to poor fiscal management. He also strongly raised the issue of consistent hike in consumers’ power tariff during the BJP government and also alleged scams in power purchase and sale.
The Congress charge-sheet has also mentioned about Panama Paper leak issue linked to Chhattisgarh and alleged corruption in purchase of Agusta helicopters.
Senior Minister Brijmohan Agrawal effectively countered Congress charges and termed the allegations a Rs bundle of lies’.
