Former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi, received a surprise guest at his residence on the occasion of his 68th birthday on Monday and the guest was none other than his bête noire in Chhattisgarh politics, CM Dr Raman Singh, who descended at Sagaun Bungalow here to greet the Congress leader whom he had voted out in 2003 Assembly polls. A deft politician as he is, Raman Singh, seized the opportunity to come closer to Jogi, with eye on polls, as the latter is still not finding acceptance in the present set up in State Congress obviously backed by central leadership.
The ayurvedic-doctor-turned politician Singh reached Jogi’s residence accompanied by chief secretary Sunil Kumar and secretary Aman Kumar Singh, and presented a bouquet and wished him a good health.
Singh who is heading the BJP government in the state since Dec 2003, ate cake offered to him by Renu Jogi, wife of wheelchair-bound Ajit Jogi.
Jogi who is practicing for past few days to walk on with the help of robotic legs, spent a busy day as his supporters thronged his residence to greet him on birthday which was showcased by Jogi as a show of strength.
