Former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh has sought seven days from police to give a statement in the case of a Toolkit dubbed as Manipulated Media, a police officer said on Wednesday.
The BJP veteran wanted time after another notice was issued to him on May 28, Raipur Senior Superintendent of Police Ajay Kumar Yadav told The Pioneer.
Raman Singh mentioned in an e-mail to police that he wants a seven-day time, Yadav added.
In the first notice, Raipur’s Civil Lines police asked Dr Raman Singh to give a detailed and factual reply. The police have queries on the reply submitted by Dr Raman Singh and so a second notice was served, Yadav said.
Also, police will soon serve a third notice to BJP spokesman Sambit Patra too regarding the case, the officer said. A FIR was filed here on May 19 on a complaint by NSUI state chief Akash Sharma against Dr Raman Singh, Patra and others for circulating an alleged fake Toolkit involving the Congress.
