Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh on Saturday extended heartfelt greetings to people of the State on Rakshabandhan.

In his message, Singh said, “In Indian culture, the pious festival of Raksha Bandhan, along with the unbreakable love of brother-sister, brings the message of love for family and society and brotherhood.”

The Chief Minister appealed to all people to take pledge on Raksha Bandhan to adopt helmet and protection of trees and plants for environment awareness. He urged all sisters to take promise from their brothers that they would wear helmet while riding two-wheelers. All sisters will remind their brothers that helmet is must for saving life of bike riders on the road.

The Chief Minister said,  “By tying Rakhi on trees symbolically, we can express our love for it. By planting saplings on our courtyard and vacant place around us, we can be a participant in environment protection.”

Singh said that it was the social and moral responsibility of all to increase green cover for clean environment on the earth. Raksha Bandhan is the best time for taking pledge for it. On the occasion, he wished well-being and prosperity to all.
