Chief Minister Raman Singh dedicated to public the renovated local stadium in Raigarh on Sunday. New constructions and modifications worth Rs2.5 crores have been done in the stadium for development and expansion of sports facilities, a Government statement informed.
Singh appreciated the new facilities added to the stadium and said that this would provide better facilities to the sportspersons.The officials said that the ground has green grass similar to Astroturf and has been developed to organize cricket, hockey, football, kabaddi, kho-kho, wrestling, taekwandoo, yoga and athletics. The skating floor has been repaired while swimming pool and gymnasium have been improvised with better facilities.
Union Minister of State for labour and Steel Vishnudev Sai, Chhattisgarh Urban Administration and Development Minister Amar Agrawal, Home Minister Ramsewak Paikra, MlA Roshanlal Agrawal, BJP State President Dharamlal Kaushik and a number of public representatives besides sportsmen and people were present on the occasion.
