Chhattisgarh’s BJP Government which is in power since December 2003, has been launching the crucial phase of lok Suraj for the first time in election year from Sunday to hold camps in villages to directly interact with people to address their basic civic problems.
The third and final phase of the lok Suraj which will conclude on March 31, Government will do its best to dispose of roughly three million applications it has received since January 12 across all 27 districts.
“lok Suraj drive is an annual exercise barring election years but this year we decided to continue with the drive as it helps Government to reach out people and address their basic problems on the spot at Redressal Camps,’’ Singh told reporters at a formal interaction here at his official residence.
He informed that majority of applications received for Redressal Camps are linked to Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna, ration cards and Ujjawala Yojna.
Singh stated that he would be launching the drive from Naxal heartland Dantewada and added that he had always begun his major public outreach initiatives from Dantewada because he feel highly blessed by Maa Danteshwari, one of the 52 Shakti Peethas spread across India.
Chhattisgarh goes to polls for a 90-member Assembly later this year and political analysts say that Raman chosen to carry on lok Suraj for the first time in election year to shoot anti-incumbency in vast rural landscape which has potential to stop BJP’s election-winning juggernaut in the mineral-rich State.
