The helicopter of Bharatiya Janata Party president Rajnath Singh was held up for about half an hour here on Wednesday due to delay in getting air traffic clearance.

Speaking to reporters at the airstrip of Jagdalpur which is the headquarters of Bastar region, Singh said people who are keeping a watch on the political developments in the country are sure that it is only the BJP which will come to power at the Centre.

Replying to a question, he said Congressmen had been making improper statements. He declined to comment on Varun Gandhi's appreciation of Rahul Gandhi recently at a public meeting in Uttar Pradesh. On Aam Admi Party, he said he will only speak on those against whom  the BJP has  the real fight. On Naxalism, he said it was unfortunate that despite having power at the Centre for ten years, the Congress party failed to solve the problem.

"This problem (Maoist insurgency) should be tackled systematically. Instead of doing that, the Congress government shifted its responsibilities to the state,''  the BJP chief remarked. He added, Rs Rs If the NDA government is voted to power at the Centre, a strong programme would be put in place to effectively tackle the Maoist problem,'' he said. Singh said the BJP will soon release its manifesto.

Soon after he arrived here, the BJP workers and leaders gave him a rousing welcome at the airstrip. He also held a meeting with party office-bearers in the waiting room of the airstrip. After his copper got air traffic clearance, he proceeded towards Kotpad in Odisha's Nabrangpur district where he was to address a rally. Prominent among those who received him at the airstrip included school and education minister Kedar Kashyap, legislator Santosh Bafna, BJP district president Vidya Charan Tiwari and others.
