State Election Commission, Chhattisgarh has issued a notification for election of Mayor and Chairman (Speaker) of Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC) which is scheduled on January 6, from 10.30 am at fourth floor conference hall, of RMC headquarters.
As per the notification, District Election Officer and Collector Dr S. Bharatidasan will preside over the meeting and also administer oath to all the newly elected corporators. The process of filing of nomination papers for Mayor and Chairman post will be held after oath ceremony. The polling will be held after nomination filing ends.
Meanwhile, Government of Chhattisgarh in Gazette notification under section 22 of the Chhattisgarh Municipal Corporation Act 1956 (no. 23 of 1956) has issued the list of elected corporator of each ward under limits of Raipur Municipal Corporation. The polling was held on December 21 and results were announced on December 24.
Similar, gazette notification has been issued for Municipal Council Gobra-Navapara, Municipal Council of Tilda-Nevra, Municipal Council Arang, Nagar Panchayat Abhanpur, Nagar Panchayat Kharora, Nagar Panchayat Kunra, and Nagar Panchayat Mana Camp.
