The State Government is gearing up to convert the Raipur-Rajim main road into a ‘four lane road’ soon.

The demarcation and other  preliminary work has already been completed for the four lane road which  would be built from Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya chowk  of Nawapara to Pandit Sunderlal Sharma chowk of Rajim at an investment of Rs.11 crore .Departmental Engineer Rushi Sen and other officials here have completed the demarcation work for the road.

The road expansion work was delayed as a proposal in this regard was laying idle in files due to Assembly and lok Sabha election in the State.Since the polls to the urban bodies is likely to be held November-December this year, officials of the departments are gearing up to complete the work before the Model Code of Conduct comes into force. Once completed, the four lane road will make both the towns attractive.

Sources said that this road will pass through the National High way and connect Odisha State.  Sooner or later the four lane road work from Abhanpur to Devbhog will also be carried out. Officials plan to carryout major four lane road work before the Kumbh Mela 2015.
