The two-day 12th State-level conference of Raipur Obstetrics and Gynaecological Society began here on Saturday.
The Raipur Obstetrics and Gynaecological Society in association with Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Raipur and Indian Fertility Society Chhattisgarh Chapter is organising the conference.
The first day of the conference discussed basics of fertility like ‘Endometriosis in infertility’ and ‘Ovulation Induction in PCOS’ in detail in presence of specialists of the field from all over the country.More than 200 gynecologists from all over the country are attending the conference .
Dr Manoj Chellani, Organising Co-chairperson and President, Raipur OBGY Society speaking on the occasion said “If pregnancy is not achieved after primary physician recommended a treatment plan for three cycles, women should be referred to a fertility specialist. If test results indicate a blockage in the fallopian tubes, abnormal uterus, abnormal sperm or low sperm count, couples should consult with a fertility specialist immediately as they may be candidates for In-vitro fertilisation (IVF) or Intrauterine Insemination (IUI).”
Dr Abha Singh, Organising Chairperson said “It’s high time that we need to understand our place in the treatment in the treatment of infertility i.e when to treat, how to treat and when to refer for IVF.
