Raipur is among the top four ‘most polluted’ among 10 cities in India, a World Health Organisation (WHO) survey report has pointed out.

As per the report, the dirtiest air had been recorded at Zabol in Iran and the next were — Gwalior and Allahabad followed by Riyadh and Al Jubail in Saudi Arabia followed by Patna and Raipur in India.

India's national capital New Delhi was the survey's 11th worst polluted city.

Notably, the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) in its report for financial year ending March 31, 2015 had mentioned: “As per World Health Organisation (WHO) January 2015 report, Raipur was among the world’s most polluted cities due to high content of dust and smoke in air which in turn causes serious health problems’.
