The Delhi Daredevils and Pune Warrior reached Raipur on Thursday amid water tight security arrangements. large number of cricket fans thronged the airport to have a glimpse of their favourite players. The players after landing at Raipur airport went straightaway to the hotel in buses.
The Delhi Daredevils in blue colour T-shirts landed at Swami Vivekanand Airport around 6.15 pm, while Pune Warriors in white tees came out of the airport main exit around 7.15 pm. large numbers of cricket aficionados gave a warm welcome to both the teams shouting names of their favourite players. This is for the first time that people of Raipur were able to see the cricket stars live.
Master blaster of past years, Sir Isaac Vivian Alexander Richards, popularly known as Vivian Richards, who has jointed Delhi Daredevils as an advisor, also accompanied the team. In a brief talk with media persons just before leaving for the hotel, he said "Raipur is a new city for us and Delhi Daredevils will do some justice and win the matches."
Notably, Delhi Daredevils has made Raipur its home ground and will play against Pune Warriors and Kolkata Knight Riders at the newly constructed Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket stadium.
So far the performance of Delhi Daredevils has been disappointing and out of 8 matches the team has won only 1 match and lost the rest.
The team is in the last position in the points tally of IPl season-6, while Pune Warriors is in a slight better position with just one notch up. Pune has won 2 matches out of 8.
Delhi Daredevils and Pune Warriors will clash on April 28. The match will be crucial for both the teams to keep their journey going in season-6.
