Taking another step to make passenger experience better, the South East Central Railway (SECR) Raipur division will soon be installing automatic ticket vending machines in Raipur and few other stations of the division.
“As many as 10 automatic ticket vending machines are going to be installed in Railway stations falling under the jurisdiction of Raipur division in broader interest of the passengers. Most probably, at least five vending machines will be installed at Raipur junction while others would be installed at Durg, Bhilai, Tilda and Bhatapara,” said SECR Public Relation Officer (PRO) of Raipur division Ratan Basak.
According to him, installation of ticket vending machine will result in reduction of rush at general ticket booking counters in busy stations and will benefit daily commuters as well.
Although, general ticket booking counters are actively working in Raipur Railway Station and others, vending machine would be assist in faster work for the Railways.
With installation of vending machines, passengers will be having the option of obtaining tickets from the machine instead of standing in a long queue, he said.
Automatic ticket vending machines are reported to be procured by SECR and tender for its installation has also been floated, informed Basak, adding that shortly, people at Raipur and few other Railway stations would be enjoying the experience of technology.
Besides, saving manpower to a large extent, the installation of ticket vending machines will be of great help for concerned staff and passengers during peak hours, added Basak.
