Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh on Friday said that AICC President Rahul Gandhi is visiting temples after fearing Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Chief Minister was referring to Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Kailash Mansarovar and proposed visit to the prominent temples of Chhattisgarh.
The AICC has sought the route map of several prominent temples in Chhattisgarh so is to include it in Rahul Gandhi’s visit to state.
The Chief Minister said at least in the name of elections, those people who never visited temples, atleast have begun to visit the temples.
Union Minister for Textiles Smriti Zubin Irani said that if any political party is asked, it would say they see the God in the people.
But it is a happy moment that the person who has gone to tour the country, due to BJP, is forced to have a visit and pray at the temples.
She said that one has to understand that politics in the country is based on development and if any party does politics by defining development, then it is only the BJP.
Meanwhile, Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CGPCC) President Bhupesh Baghel while reacting to the comment of Chief Minister said that what type of ‘Hindu’ national party is it which objects to Congress President Rahul Gandhi going to the temple. How the Chief Minister is seeing politics while climbing the steps of temple, he said.
Baghel said that BJP leaders are sitting without work and so watching the movement of Congress President. They (BJP) should turn the pages of Congress history before making any comment. It is Congress leader Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel who started the renovation of Somnath temple. It was President Shankar Dayal Sharma who dedicated the temple to the nation.
Congress party follows path of Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi. BJP does not have the right to play politics on religion. It is an individual’s privacy to follow any faith and no one can question it, he said .
