All India Congress Committee Chief Rahul Gandhi would be on a three-day tour of the state from Oct 12 to give a fresh lease of life to the organization after it had gone on backfoot being tangled in dirty politics of sleaze CD and sting operation.
Highly placed sources in Congress informed that the AICC Chief would kick-start the poll campaign of Congress during visit by paying obeisance at Maa Bamleshwari temple, Dongargarh.
The poll campaign would be started by him from the assembly constituency of Chief Minister Raman Singh, Rajnandgaon, where he will participate in a road show.
The tour of Rahul is seen as an attempt to bring down the factionalism growing in the organization. All the major leaders of the party have been instructed to be present in the programme of Rajnandgaon. Notable, factionalism marred the organization after the CD issue and alleged sting operation of a senior Congress leader.
Meanwhile, after being admonished, the state leaders are now ready to stay united and participate in the programme of Rajnandgaon ending rivalry over leadership. This is the need of the hour too as to overthrow the 15 year long BJP rule in the state, said party sources.
At present BJP was making the factionalism in organization an issue and the BJP National President, Amit Shah himself raised the issue of absence of ‘CM face’ from the Congress.
