The suicide case of former Bilaspur superintendent of police Rahul Sharma took a new turn with last ditch effort of his father Raj Kumar Sharma who filed his objection to the CBI closure report which the court was scheduled to discuss on Monday. The court has fixed the next hearing in the case on November 8. Advocate of Sharma has demanded the copy of CBI closure report before the next hearing so that they could file objection in the court.

Raj Kumar Sharma’s advocate Shashikant Sharma informed that a special team of CBI had come to Raipur from New Delhi. leader of the team Sheikh Imran Asif had reportedly submitted a list of 237 witnesses in the court along with documents, pistol, cartridges and other evidences recovered from the incident site.

The Court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Alok Kumar Singh was scheduled to hear the case on Monday but he filed a Vakalatnama on behalf of the deceased SP’s

father raising objection to the closure report of the investigating agency.

After this, the court extended the hearing to November 8. According to him, the CBI had filed closure report in the Rahul Sharma suicide case on September 13 and the court was scheduled to hear the plea of the investigating agency on the same on Monday. After receiving the copy of closure report, objections will be filed in the court, he added.

To a question of newsmen that what would be the basis of objection, advocate

Sharma said that it would be finalised only after seeing the closure report.

Notably, one and half years back the then SP of

Bilaspur, Rahul Sharma had committed suicide by shooting himself in his temple with his own revolver.

After much hue and cry over the issue, CBI was assigned the probe after taking it from the state police. A suicide note was also recovered from the person of Rahul Sharma in which he accused his bosses of meeting him undue harassment.
