Talking to reporters here at the State Assembly complex on the first day of the first session of the fourth State legislative Assembly on Monday, the newly appointed leader of Opposition said, “We would play the role of an active Opposition in the House and the Congress party members would not hesitate in raising any issue related to the development of Chhattisgarh.”

Singh Deo further remarked, “We read about the truth of Chhattisgarh in newspapers. Schemes are made and awards are also given (to the State Government) in different categories. But the fact remains that roads constructed by PWD do not survive more than six months.”

“People are sitting on protests and administration assures that their work would be completed within 15 days. But then, they (administration) go on leave and do not have time to listen to the words of villagers,” he charged.

The Congress leader further said, “The hostels and night shelters running in the State have generally 4 beds for 40 wandering children and not a single child is living there on a regular basis. These kinds of problems would be echoed in the interest of people of Chhattisgarh. This is our aim.”
