Reacting on the statement of Haribandhu Nayak and Bhagawan Sahu that Utkal Samaj has been neglected in the State, Utkal Samaj leader Purander Mishra said the BJP Government has already taken steps for the improvement of the Samaj in the past and is committed to take several measures in the future.

Mishra described Nayak and Sahu as the agents of Congress and accused them of bargaining with the Government by invoking the name of Samaj. He said Utkal Samaj people have been benefiting from the Rs 2 per kg rice scheme launched by the BJP Government in the State.

Mishra said those who are saying that the Utkal Samaj has been neglected are not only Congress’ agent but they are also dreaming of getting a red beacon. “They should have asked for the beacon when the Congress was in power for three years,” he said. It is unfortunate that the Congress workers and leaders are seeking red beacon by utilising the name of Utkal Samaj, he said.

The BJP Government has been working for the whole society. It is working for the benefit of the people. BJP Government is not working for any individual, rather for all section of the people, he said.

BJP Government implemented schemes, which benefit people of all communities. Nobody can accuse the Government of discriminating any particular community, he said.“Those who are accusing the Government of neglecting the Utkal Samaj society will boycott them,” he said.
