On the occasion of the 55th Bank nationalization day, the All India Bank Officers Confederation (AIBOC) on Wednesday called for support to state-run banks.
AIBOC told the media here to underline the importance of bank nationalization.
A total of 500 saplings were planted by bank officials at educational institutions in Raipur, Bilaspur and Bhilai.
A rally was attended by 300 members of AIBOC in Bilaspur.
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel extended his support for the bank nationalization and pledged his support against privatization of banks.
"We call on the banking community, the government and all stakeholders to unite, collaborate and construct a sustainable, inclusive and resilient banking system that serves the best interests of our nation and its people," a statement from the group said.
