Continuing his election campaign consecutively for the seventh day, Chief Minister Raman Singh addressed public meetings and participated in roadshows in Kawardha, Mungeli and Ambikapur on Friday. He claimed that public mood was entirely in favour of the BJP and the party was poised to make a clean sweep in urban bodies polls.

Singh appealed people to vote for BJP candidates for development. Addressing a public meeting in his home town Kawardha, Singh said that Kawardha has developed a unique image due to better execution of schemes and proper utilisation of funds received for urban development. To maintain the pace of development, people should extend support to BJP in the urban body elections. “BJP is looking for the similar support from people of Kawardha in urban body elections as given by them in the Assembly and lok Sabha elections,” said Singh.

He said that Kawardha lagged under the Congress rule and the development gained momentum only under the rule of the BJP. Singh highlighted various development work undertaken in Kawardha during BJP rule and promised to continue the development of urban bodies at similar pace in future also.

He said that the funds received for execution of scheme for urban development can be utilised in a better way only if BJP members are elected. He assured people of development and appealed them to vote for the BJP candidates. In tribal stronghold Ambikapur Singh participated in a road show and appealed to the people to elect BJP candidates with huge margins.
