Bastar District Collector, Dhananjay Dewangan has directed bank officials to ascertain that more and more farmers get the benefit of interest-free agriculture loan.
The Collector was addressing officials at Time-limit meeting held here on Thursday.
In the meeting Dewangan said interest-free agriculture loan scheme is an important scheme of government and the farmers could take loan for fertilizers, seeds as well as other agriculture work.
In the meeting he also directed the Agriculture Department officials to motivate farmers in taking crop insurance scheme.
There is a threat before the farmers for loss of their crop due to natural disasters like scanty rainfall, drought as well as excessive rainfall. And in such a situation the officials of the district should prepare an action plan, he said.
He stressed in the meeting to chalk out an action plan for the coming Kharif season well before the monsoon season .
The Collector also underlined in the meeting to publicize the Prime Minister Health Insurance Scheme and Chief Minister Health Insurance Scheme and appealed to the people of the district to use the smart card for medical treatment.
