The screening of the Bollywood film "The Accidental Prime Minister" was stopped for a while in several multiplexes in the city on Friday morning following protests by frontal organizations of Congress party.
Online bookings for the show were also stalled for a few hours in the morning.
Later when the situation turned normal the show was continued and online booking was also resumed.
In Raipur, the activists held a protest outside the 36-city Mall following which the multiplex management delayed starting the show to prevent any untoward incident.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel in a statement said that the activists were supporters of ‘freedom of expression’ and the party will issue instructions to frontal organizations NSUI and Youth Congress not to oppose the film and stage demonstration against it.
