Bilaspur Division Commissioner Sonmoni Borah, with a view to promoting tourism in Bango dam, has instructed the South Eastern Coalfield limited (SECl) to provide boats to the Water Resources Department.Borah recently visited Korba and chaired a district-level meeting at the Collectorate.After a long discussion with SECl officials, he asked to extend support in promoting Bango dam as a tourist spot, under their Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR).
Bango dam, a popular tourist destination, is situated in Podi-Uproda development block, 60 km from the district headquarters.The 365-metre high Bango dam is also known as Minimata Bango dam. People from far-flung areas come to the tourist spot. Borah has also instructed all the four project officers to design the boat and submit details immediately.He has directed the SECl management to complete all these works within two months.
