Former Chief Minister and Congress working committee member Ajit Jogi on Tuesday alleged that the state government decision to probe the recent incident of arson in the JK lakshmi Cement Plant at Ahiwara by an Additional Director General (ADG) level officer was to hide the reality and not to bring the truth before the people.
He said such massive incident was the first of its kind in Chhattisgarh that has not only worried the industry world, but created a state of insecurity also. Suspecting on the probe ordered into the arson, not by a judicial agency but by an ADG level officer from the Economic Crime Investigation Bureau of the State Government and on the proposed points of investigation, Jogi said that this fact should also be brought under the probe that by whose order the cement plant, which was to be established at Semaria village, was established at Mallikhurd. After the change of location, which officer of the state government has given the permission for the construction of plant, he questioned.
The former chief minister questioned that if outside workers were engaged in the plant, then what information related to the workers was available with the labour department, after the incident the insurance of the lost assets was done by which insurance company and what information was available with the Central Excise department about the cost of machinery and other assets lost in the incident.
Jogi alleged that the incident was the result of the conspiracy and protection of JK lakshmi management and the corrupt political leaders.
He said that the labourers of Chhattisgarh are peace loving and hard-working and they could not carry out such incidents. It was very clear from the reports published in the newspapers that the state government was registering fake cases against the innocent villagers.
Fearing police action villagers of the nearby area had left their places and the women and children have been the victims of police atrocities, he added. Jogi said action was being taken against the labour leaders under the Public Security Act. He said that with the act of the state government Chhattisgarh has been disgraced and as there was no control over corruption and naxal activities, the industrialists fear to establish their industries in the State.
The inability and the administrative weakness of the state government were fully responsible for such incidents. The working style of the state government was also not transparent, because of which indignation against the present government was growing among the people of the state, he added.
Jogi alleged that the decision not to probe the incident by judicial agency was to hide the fact from the people of the state and said the people of the state would definitely give answer to this to the corrupt state government in the forthcoming election.
