Chhattisgarh Police have booked a principal and warden of a private educational institution-cum-hostel in Nava Raipur after a 5-year-old boy fell to death from its terrace a few days ago, police said on Sunday.
Prafull Dubey, a boarder, was sprawled on the ground floor after he fell from the terrace of the third floor and succumbed to injuries during treatment in a private hospital, they said.
Raipur Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) Kirtan Rathore said the principal and warden of Godson Angelin Academy in Kharkharadih were booked under section 304 (A) of the Indian Penal Code for negligence.
The FIR says principal Rekha Ambiyan and warden Nalini Singh were negligent in taking care of the children as they were asked to sleep on the terrace due to summer heat without any safety precautions.
Dubey's parents, Akhilesh and Vinita, safai workers and other students of the school spoke to the police, the FIR added.
