Maintaining his stand on Shirdi Sai Baba, the Shankaracharya of Dwarikapeeth, Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati said that he will not change his statement and is ready to go to jail. Talking to media persons in Bhilai on Friday, Swami Swaroopanand said that the Sanatan Dharma is run by ‘Vedas’ and Sai Baba has not been mentioned in any of the ancient scripts.
“He could not be taken as God and anyone who is Asatya, Achetan and Ayogya cannot be worshipped. In addition to this an idol placed in a temple cannot be worshipped unless its ‘Pranpratishtha’ is done,” said Swami Swaroopanand.
The Shankaracharya said that he has not stopped anyone from worshipping Sai Baba but it is against the religion. He said that non bailable warrant has been issued by a local court against him. He demanded the Central government to make such an arrangement which helps in providing education of Hindu religion in schools.
