The development of human resources is the first need. This is possible only through education. So, teachers have great               responsibility to prepare the students to face challenges, Chhattisgarh Governor Anusuiya Uikey said on Monday.

She was addressing the State Teacher Award Ceremony at Raj Bhavan to mark Teachers Day. A total of 56 teachers were              honoured with the State Teacher Award and four teachers received Memory Award in the name of renowned litterateurs.

She emphasized the development of human resources as in its absence valuable resources will be wasted. The children are the resources, and their originality and imagination are the precious wealth of the             country.

It is the duty of the teachers to inculcate high ideals and moral values as well as a feeling of patriotism and unity among them, she said.

The Governor appreciated the state government in opening English medium schools even in remote areas, reopening schools in Naxalite areas and starting kindergarten (Balwadi), saying all these will play an important role in changing the educational scenario.

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel recalled the contribution of teachers during the Covid-19 pandemic forced school lockdown.
