Hectic preparations are underway for the elections of 11 Agriculture Production Mandis of Bastar division. The elections would be held on April 28. The district Collectors in the Bastar division would be the Electoral Officers for the respective Agriculture Mandis. In a meeting convened by Bastar Divisional Commissioner R P Jain recently, it was informed that the elections would be conducted under the provisions of Chhattisgarh Krishi Upaj Mandi Act 1972 while for the Societies the polls would be conducted as per the amended Chhattisgarh Krishi Upaj Mandi Act 1997.
