As the general election draws nearer, the administration of Maoist hit Jagdalpur has planned to provide accommodation to the paramilitary sources in different schools.
The district authorities initially wanted to use the local religious guest houses or Dharmasala to lodge them but the chances appears to be remote as the operators of such guest houses refused to oblige them.
They said that the paramilitary forces will be served non vegetarian foods. Besides some of the personals also consume liquor which cannot be allowed in religious guest houses. The election commission which is facing a big challenge to make the election trouble free and peaceful in the Maoist affected areas has sought more than 150 companies of paramilitary personals, sources said.
Superintendent of Police Ajay Yadav said large numbers of paramilitary forces have already been deployed in the district more are expected to come before the election. More forces would come at a time when the schools will be closed for Diwali vacation. He feels the vacation could start Oct 20 to Nov 18. During that time the schools could be used for accommodation of the forces. The administration also said the paramilitary forces which will be deployed for the election in the region would be initially kept in Bastar and subsequently sent to other parts in smaller groups and the administration will not face any problem to provide accommodation.
