Buses with smaller passenger capacity requisitioned by the Election Commission (EC) for the three-phased polls in Chhattisgarh have got back first on roads in various cities and towns across the State. With the last phase of polling getting over on April 24 in the State, EC is expected to release the bigger buses within two days which is expected to bring a sigh of relief to passengers in the State. The typical poll season had created unprecedented rush at the bus stations across the State as buses were requisitioned for poll duty.
The buses were requisitioned by the EC in phases for poll duty well before the first phase of polls on April 10 in Bastar and thereafter for the rest of the two phases in the State.
General Secretary of Chhattisgarh Yatayat Mahasangh Haaji Safeeq Raja said that smaller buses have been returned but bigger buses are yet to be released, he said.
