To promote the electors to cast their vote during polls , each polling centre will have ‘Voter Selfie Zone’, said Chhattisgarh Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Subrat Sahoo.
The ‘Voter Selfie Zone’ will have one 20x30 size one poster installed outside each polling centre but within the premises, installed at height of 4-5 feet so that each elector can stand before it and take the selfie.
The selfie has to be taken with the inedible ink mark on the finger. After snapping the selfie it has to be posted with electors EPIC number and Assembly constituency number in their own Facebook and Twitter hastaging it as #Chhattisgarh and also tagging in @CEOChhattisgarh.
Five best selfie will be selected from each assembly constituency and would be given awards.
Sahoo further said that for more electors to cast their votes, a promotion is being also organized in Facebook of CEO Chhattisgarh page. It has a ‘photo frame profile picture’ where electors through their Facebook account can fit their profile picture.
‘Add Frames’ section exists in the profile picture, in which elector can search ‘Chhattisgarh Votes’ and then upload it. ‘WhatsApp sticker’ has also been issued for creating awareness among the electors through WhatsApp.
Sahoo further said that for first time Chhattisgarh Tracking of Poll Process Software (C-TOPPS) is being utilized for distribution of polling materials and tracking the polling teams, starting from the starting point to return. It is a live monitoring.
The Presiding Officer, Root in-charge and Sector In-charge have been given mobile application while district and state-level monitoring a dash-board has been provided.
The Presiding Officer on polling day would provide mock-poll process, actual time of commencement of polling, status of polling each two hours, submission of election materials at collection centre and others can provide real time status. This can help to tackle any emergency.
