The results of the Assembly elections in Chhattisgarh will be shocking and in favour of the Congress party, claimed Union Minister of State (independent charge) Corporate Affairs, Sachin Pilot while talking with reporters here at party headquarters Congress Bhawan on Wednesday.

He was in Raipur as part of the Congress party election campaign programme for the second phase of Chhattisgarh Assembly election scheduled on November 19.

To a query about Union Ministers suddenly criticising Government of Chhattisgarh, Pilot said, “there are Government programmes and we want to give platform to officers and Ministers doing good job. But now we are in election and our fight is not against any Government but against the BJP. We are against direction which the BJP has given to this State. Here (in Chhattisgarh) we are in the Opposition and it is our responsibility to expose corruption before people of the State,” he remarked.

Over the question about Modi effect in Chhattisgarh, Pilot took the BJP leaders to the task and said there are 11 to 12 leaders inside the BJP claiming of the post of PM. “When Atal Bihari Vajpayee was in power there were 22 stakeholders in the NDA and presently the NDA has only two parties in its support. So, the person who could not keep his party intact how would he take care of the country,” quipped Pilot.

When questioned about the uncontrolled price rise, Pilot confessed inflation is a challenge. However, he added it is the responsibility of the State Government to check artificial shortage of commodities, which causes price rise.
