Reaches booth after hours

A polling party went missing in the restive Sukma district, after taking a wrong route to reach Devarpalli polling booth in the red zone before finding the right way, until after noon hours to reach their destination.

A large number of villagers had lined up since morning to cast their vote at the polling booth, where voting commenced only after the polling team arrived. The Devarpalli polling booth had been declared as ‘hyper-sensitive’ by the Election Commission as it exists in the red zone, about 70 km from the Sukma district headquarters.

Initially, other anxious officials suspected that the polling party members had been abducted by the insurgents or might have turned back towards the district headquarters in fear of getting attacked by rebels but they arrived at the polling booth after noon hours.
