First phase of National Pulse Polio Campaign would be conducted in Bhilai Township area on Sunday through 62 booths and 10 mobile, said a Press statement of the Bhilai Steel Plant, the highest profit-making unit of the Steel Authority of India ltd (SAIl).
For administration of polio vaccine, various agencies like PG College of Nursing, Alternative Medical College are providing their volunteers. All the volunteers have been trained for this purpose. A team of four zonal officers would monitor and supervise the campaign. India has reached a major milestone in the history of polio eradication as no case of polio has detected during last 12 months period. At this stage of polio eradication programme, high quality preparedness and monitoring during the NID is one of the most critical elements of the programme.
The Bhilai Steel Plant management has urged all parents residing in Bhilai township area to bring their children in nearby booth to receive polio dose. Because of regular pulse polio campaign, India is very near to get declared as polio eradicated country.
