Raipur Police has constituted a Narcotics Cell to check the smuggling of drugs, it was announced on Thursday.
Raipur Senior Superintendent of Police Prashant Agrawal told The Pioneer that a nine-member team has been set up to take effective action against smuggling of narcotics from other states.
It would cover purchase and sale of banned intoxicating tablets and syrups, prevention of narcotic drugs, cannabis and other intoxicants.
The team will be headed by Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime) Abhishek Maheshwari, Agrawal added.
