The ‘Pradhanmantri Jan-Dhan Yojana’ will be launched in the Chhattisgarh on Thursday.
As per the directives received from the Central Government, this scheme will be launched in Chhattisgarh on the same day and time across the country and at the State level in Raipur and at district levels at all district headquarters of the State, officials stated. The Chhattisgarh Government, in a circular issued to all collectors, has directed them to organise inaugural function of this scheme. In the circular issued by the Finance and Planning Department, it has been said that district in-charge Ministers, MPs, MlAs and other people’s representatives should necessarily be invited for the district-level programmes.
literacy and financial inclusion related programmes should be included in these functions. Union Minister of State for Mining, Steel and labour Vishnudev Sai will inaugurate the scheme in Raipur. The inaugural function will be held at New Circuit House, Civil lines at 4 pm.Health and Urban Administration Minister Amar Agrawal will preside over the function.
MP Ramesh Bais, Rajya Sabha member Dr Bhushanlal Jangade, MlAs Satyanarayan Sharma, Devjibhai Patel, Dhanendra Sahu, Srichand Sundarani and Navin Markandeya, Mayor Raipur Municipal Corporation Kiranmayi Nayak and President Raipur District Panchayat laxmi Verma will be present as special guests.
The programme will be organised jointly by the Directorate of Institutional Finance Chhattisgarh and the State level Bankers Committee (SlBC).
Under the ‘Pradhanmantri Jan-Dhan Yojana’, along with debit card, at least one basic bank account will be made available to each family, in which accident insurance security worth Rs1 lakh will be given to the family. In this scheme, a plan has been mooted to transfer direct benefit of the Government schemes to all beneficiaries through their bank accounts.
According to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with the opening of bank account of each family, they would get loan, savings and other necessary facilities related to banks easily.The Prime Minister will launch this scheme at the national level at a function organised at Vigyan Bhawan New Delhi on August 28 at 4 pm. The scheme will be launched in all States of the country on the same day and time.
