PM must apologise for failing to check inflation: Cong

Published on:

The Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CGPCC) on Monday asked the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to apologize to the people on failing to check inflation.

CPCC president, Bhupesh Baghel and TS Singhdeo, in their joint press release, accused the BJP-Government for ‘deceiving’ the people with their ‘false promises’.

“The BJP made many promises including to check inflation only to win polls. Soon after coming into the power, their Government has only multiplied inflation by increasing the price of petrol, diesel, electricity, rail passenger and freight fare, milk products, onion etc” accused the Congress leaders.

They added that BJP Government has now increased import duty on Sugar by 40 per cent, which will result as a hike of at least Rs 5 in per kg rate, while the Government is considering about  Rs 10/cylinder hike in lPG gas price.

“When Congress-led UPA was in the power, BJP and then candidate for PM post, Narendra Modi used to confront them on inflation rate ‘’, they concluded.
