The concept of Krishna Kunj has been realized in Pithora town in Chhattisgarh's Mahasamund district and the urban plantation there has become a model for the state.
The Krishna Kunj Tree Plantation Scheme of the Chhattisgarh government aims to preserve invaluable trees by developing forest parks to provide a pollution-free natural environment in all urban areas.
Divisional Forest Officer Pankaj Rajput said many trees of cultural importance have been planted at the Pithora Krishna Kunj along with medicinal plants.
