Physiotherapy services reach tribal areas

Chhattisgarh's Kondagaon district administration is implementing the ‘Physiotheraphy Tumcho Duar’ campaign to take physiotherapy related services door-to-door in rural areas. Till date, 651 people have been treated.

Physiotherapy treatment is considered effect for diseases like paralysis, joint pain and stiffness of neck among others, an official communication said on Saturday.

The people of rural areas are often either unaware or not able to take advantage of physiotherapy facilities as these exist mainly in cities. They rely on traditional herbs and modes which sometimes worsens the situation.

The Kondagaon administration identifies the patients, makes them aware of their problems and provides necessary treatment including medicines and physiotherapy.

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel flagged off the 'Physiotherapy Tumcho Duar' vehicle on January 27 this year.
