The physiotherapy students who were on fast unto death for past four days called off their strike after a meeting with Principal Secretary Dr Alok Shukla on Wednesday. They were assured that the Government will draft the Bill for Physiotherapy Council and get approval from the cabinet after Assembly session, claimed State Coordinator of Chhattisgarh Association of Physiotherapists Dr SK Sen.
Dr Sen said that Dr Alok Shukla told their delegation that the Chief Minister had issued order for formation of the Physiotherapy Council but the committee formed for drafting the Bill had prepared the Bill with shortcomings. Hence, the Bill for the Council will be drafted again and approved by the Cabinet after Assembly session.
“On assurance given by the Principal Secretary the office-bearers of Chhattisgarh Association of Physiotherapists have decided to call off the strike,” concluded Dr Sen.
