Focusing on paddy, the staple crop in most of the countries, Matthew Morell, the Director General of International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) of Manila, Philippines will be meeting the Chief Minister Raman Singh on Monday, stated Indira Gandhi Agricultural University (IGAU) officials.
“The discussion is likely to concentrate on the welfare of farmers through paddy farming. Also, it will relate to some policy making issues in the agricultural sector,” said IGAU Public Relations Officer (PRO) KK Sahu. “The Director General will hold a public meeting as well on Monday,” added the PRO.
“IGAU marks an achievement in producing the high zinc content rice benefiting the diarrhea, malnutrition and pregnant women,” maintained Sahu.
