The state Congress on Wednesday welcomed the Baghel government’s move to issue a notification adding eight new points for the judicial probe into the Jheeram massacre.
This would bring to fore the conspiracy angle into the killing and soon the perpetrators would be behind the bars, it said.
Notable, a one-man judicial commission headed by High Court Justice Prashant Mishra is probing into the matter.
State General Secretary and chairman communication wing of the Pradesh Congress Shailesh Nitin Trivedi in a statement said the alleged conspiracy behind the Jheeram valley massacre by Maoists, which wiped out the entire top state-level leadership of the Congress party in 2013, would now come to fore with the inclusion of the eight new points in the probe.
“The conspiracy angle was till now not probed by the judicial commission as it was not within its purview. With the addition of these eight points in the probe anyone who had information about the massacre could now record their statement before the judicial commission”, he said. “By doing so the judicial commission will now be able to look into the criminal and political conspiracy behind the massacre”, Trivedi added.
