With the Covid-19 positivity rate in Chhattisgarh at 0.09 percent, district collectors on Wednesday ruled that up to 150 people can attend gatherings such as marriage, funeral and other events. The earlier upper limit was 50 persons.
This follows the partial amendment of the relevant sections of the Criminal Procedure Code 1973 and Disaster Management Act 2005, an official communication said.
The operator of the hotel or marriage hall has to maintain the list of the 150 persons and ensure Covid appropriate behaviour.
Strict action will be initiated against persons and establishments violating the order under the Disaster Management Act 2005, Epidemic Diseases (Amendment) Act 2020 and other relevant laws.
