The people of the country will make history this time in the coming lok Sabha election, Chhattisgarh chief minister Raman Singh said while addressing the nomination rally of BJP candidate Saroj Pandey at Durg on Wednesday.
The chief minister told the gathering that the Congress party has no right to seek vote as it has entirely failed to keep its promises despite being in power for ten years. “The biggest promise the Congress regime at the Centre had made was to reduce price rise in 100 days of its governance. Forget about one hundred days, it failed to do so even in ten years. The life of the common man has become miserable as prices of essential commodities increased more than ten times, instead,'' observed Singh, who is heading the BJP government in Chhattisgarh since Dec 2003.
If anybody asks BJP workers why he should vote for the BJP instead of the Congress, the BJP worker has enough replies, he said. He has enough grounds to explain the steps taken by the Chhattisgarh government for the welfare of the people,'' Singh stated. Highlighting the achievements made by his government, the chief minister said people want to make Narendra Modi as the next prime minister because he has not only seen the poverty himself but also experienced its pain.
Hitting out at Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice-president Rahul Gandhi, the chief minister said, the country suffered as they both do not have any knowledge of anything.“Now Narendra Modi wants to lift the country from this abysmal phase and for that the people need to re-elect candidate like Saroj Pandey to the lok Sabha who has already proved her efficiency by her performance in the last five years, Singh said.
The national general secretary of the BJP, JP Nadda, said the people of Durg had supported the BJP spontaneously in the last assembly election in November last year and he is confident, they will keep up the spirit in this election too.Accusing the Congress government at the Centre of neglecting Chhattisgarh, Nadda said the central government always obstructed the progress of the BJP-ruled states. In spite of that chief minister Raman Singh did not allow the people of the state to suffer.
If the BJP comes to power at the Centre, the people of the state will not have to face such trouble, he pointed out. BJP candidate Saroj Pandey said even a ten-year old boy leaves his mother's laps and does all the work on his own, but despite being the prime minister for ten years, Manmohan Singh is yet to quit the lap of Sonia Gandhi. The way Manmohan Singh reduced the dignity of the post of prime minister, it had never happened in the past, she said.
The others who addressed the rally included minister Prem Prakash Pandey, Ajay Chandrakar, lok Jansakti Party chairman Dhirendra Pratap Singh, former minister Hemchand Yadav and others.
