The members of organisation ‘Ped Prahari’ took out a cleanliness drive in a forest area to realise the concept of ‘Clean Forest–Green Forest’. Founder of the organisation and Deputy General Manager (Public Relations) of State Power Distribution Company ltd (CSPDCl) Vijay Mishra led the drive.
He said that polythene, plastic, bottle and other garbage littered in the forest hamper the development of forest as these materials add to the air, water and soil pollution.
The garbage thrown in forest obstructs sunlight and other nutritious material from reaching to the root and other parts of the plant. The garbage also increases the risk of fire in the forest.
Thus the forests need to be free from polythene, plastic bottles and other material. Apart from the members, a number of school children and common people are being involved in the campaign to keep the forest clean besides tree plantation. Ratan Gondane, Prasanna Dubey, Sonu Sahu, Sanjay Tembe and others participated in the drive.
