Sleuths of the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) on Tuesday raided the Atal Naga- based office of the State Civil Supplies Corporation here, commencing a fresh probe into Rs 36,000 crore PDS scam.
The team sought all files and documents related to the scam from the officials present and seized some of them.
Superintendent of Police (SP) EOW I.K. Elesela later talking to The Pioneer informed that “the EOW team reached the office to investigate into the matter following the task assigned to them”.
Accepting that earlier too they have seized the documents from there, the SP further said “that was a different period and now the time has changed and the investigation is being done afresh”.
Notable, the alleged scam was exposed in February, 2015 when ACB and EOW sleuths conducted simultaneous raids at 25 premises of Chhattisgarh State Civil Supplies Corporation Limited and residences of its officials.
During the raid, a 113-page diary (in which names of beneficiaries of the scam were mentioned) was allegedly recovered.
