An important meeting of Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CGPCC) is called on Wednesday afternoon to chalk out its future strategy on its ongoing tirade against the Centre over paddy                   procurement.

A new date for its proposed demonstration at national capital against the Union government’s stand over the issue could be finalized in the meeting.

Official sources informed that in the meeting, convened under chairmanship of PCC chief Mohan Markam, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel would be present as a special guest.

Presidents of all the 27 district units of the party are also invited in the meeting to be held at its state headquarters Rajiv Bhavan, sources said.

Earlier, the PCC had decided that it would march to national capital with farmers of the state on November 13 so as to reach there on November 15. But the date was postponed following Supreme Court’s verdict on Ayodhya.

As the date for commencement of paddy procurement is closing, it is expected that the PCC will finalize a new date of demonstration that would be within a week or so.
