Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths on Saturday nabbed a Patwari posted at Baloda Bazaar while taking a bribe of Rs15,000 for giving away land related documents. ACB officials informed that Sukhiram Sahu (57) posted as Patwari at Sitapar Tahsil, Palari Baloda Bazaar had demanded Rs15,000 from the complainant Om Prakash Singh Thakur for providing the B-1 Khasra document and plot map. The complainant a resident of Sitapara wanted to sell 1 acer of his ancestral land for which he need the above mentioned documents. The accused Patwari, few days back while demanding Rs17,000 for providing the land related
documents and had already taken Rs 2,000 Om Prakash, the ACB officials said while adding that Sukhiram Sahu had called the complainant at his home/office with remaining amount. Meanwhile, the complainant appeared before Superintendent of Police (SP) ACB Raipur and informed about the illegal demand. The ACB team then laid the trap and reached Patwari’s hose with the complainant and caught the Patwari while accepting money, the ACB officials maintained. Sukhiram Sahu has been booked under the Section 7, 13(1), 13(2) of Prevention of Corruption Act 1988, officials said.
